God – The Son

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5

Jesus is the son of God. He came to earth as a human (like you and me) and lived a normal life with a normal family in a normal village. I can imagine that He was probably super jacked from hiking up and down mountains everyday, and from pursuing a career in stone/wood carpentry.  The Bible says He wasn’t a stud, but he was totally perfect in every way, and was the kind of guy you would want to bring home to meet your parents. Did I mention He was jacked?  Anyway, Jesus faced the same types of trials and temptations that we face today, except He never sinned.  As I said before, He was completely perfect…. dare I say – a total dream boat.

Jesus is a lover, and the most trustworthy friend you could ever hope for; He came into this world to bind up the brokenhearted, set the captives free, and heal the sick.  He loved us so much that He took OUR sin, and bore it on His shoulders even until death.

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2Cor 5:21

Jesus died on a cross for US, but He did not stay dead. He defeated sin and the grave by rising again.  Because He is ALIVE, we also are given new life.  Through His resurrection we are free! Free from guilt, free from shame and even free from death.

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
John 3:16-17
